AWANA is a fun and exciting way for children to learn Scripture and obtain a basic understanding of biblical principles and doctrines. AWANA also provides an opportunity for children to learn to compete as a team and not just as individuals. They will learn to win and lose with a proper attitude of fair play and sportsmanship.
AWANA reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth”
AWANA meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Check in begins at 5:50 pm. All regular club activities are held at the church.
The AWANA year follows the regular school year. We follow the vacation schedule and snow days schedule of Neosho R-5. (If school is cancelled, there will be no AWANA that evening). If Neosho R-5 adds make ups days to their school calendar we will also add make up meetings to the AWANA calendar.
Make a Difference in a Kid’s Life – Volunteer in AWANA!
Kids look forward to AWANA all week! It’s where they hear the gospel and learn the Bible in a fun setting, complete with games, theme nights and special events. But AWANA can’t happen without dedicated volunteers who serve each week. Volunteers make all of the difference in these kids’ lives.
Whether you like to teach, run games, lead songs or keep records, AWANA has a place for you. One thing’s for sure – you’ll have fun!
